Paleo Festival<\/a>, held at the San Giorgio Castle Museum in La Spezia: two days dedicated to experimental archaeology, featuring workshops, demonstrations and talks.<\/p>\n\n\n\nWe\u2019re bringing \u00d6tzi with us \u2013 or rather, a piece of his world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In our \u2018Like \u00d6tzi\u2019 workshop, we\u2019ll be working with and weaving deer hide to make a bracelet, experiencing Neolithic techniques and materials first-hand. A simple, hands-on activity that tells us a great deal about how people lived over 5,000 years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alongside the workshops, we\u2019re also taking part in a discussion among industry professionals, with a presentation marking the 25th anniversary of archeoParc: an opportunity to share experiences, ideas and perspectives on archaeological outreach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Events like this allow us to venture out of Val Senales, meet new enthusiasts and share the story of prehistory beyond the museum walls. They are also a way to learn new things, which we then take with us \u2013 and back to the museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And who knows: perhaps the next step will be for you to come and visit us in Val Senales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
