It\u2019s motto is \u201cIntertwining archaeology, heritage, and museums\u201d. The Call for Papers is currently open and will remain so until 6st February. There will be a Session co-organized by archeoParc Val Senales.<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note the Call for Papers of the following <a href=\"https:\/\/www.e-a-a.org\/EAA2025\/EAA2025\/Programme_tabs\/Sessions.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">conference session<\/a> of the this year European Association of Archeologists Conferencewhich is organized by Clara Masriera-Esquerra from <a href=\"https:\/\/portalrecerca.uab.cat\/en\/organisations\/departament-de-prehist%C3%B2ria\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona<\/a> (Spain) and co-orgnized by archeoParc-director Johanna Niederkofler:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conference Session on rural archeological heritage coorganized by archeoParc Val Senales<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Session #247: Rural archaeological heritage \u2013 a challenge to survive<br><br><\/strong>The session organisers encourage papers that present work regarding the following:<br><br>The knowledge transfer of archaeological heritage has been predominantly centered on urban areas, where population density and accessibility facilitate the study and exhibition of historical narratives. However, archaeological heritage of rural regions, often remain overlooked.<br><br>This session aims to investigate the archaeological heritage of less populated rural areas, examining whether these regions possess significant historical narratives worthy of display. We will explore the financial challenges faced by these areas in maintaining museums and visitor centers, as well as the demographic composition of local and visiting communities that engage with these sites.<br><br>Furthermore, we will analyze the types of activities and communication strategies employed to promote awareness and appreciation of rural heritage. By sharing diverse experiences from around the globe, this session seeks to illuminate the rich, yet often hidden, histories of rural areas.
