The archeoParc at the Paleo Festival in La Spezia

On 18 and 19 April, we’ll be at the Paleo Festival, held at the San Giorgio Castle Museum in La Spezia: two days dedicated to experimental archaeology, featuring workshops, demonstrations and talks.

We’re bringing Ötzi with us – or rather, a piece of his world.

In our ‘Like Ötzi’ workshop, we’ll be working with and weaving deer hide to make a bracelet, experiencing Neolithic techniques and materials first-hand. A simple, hands-on activity that tells us a great deal about how people lived over 5,000 years ago.

Alongside the workshops, we’re also taking part in a discussion among industry professionals, with a presentation marking the 25th anniversary of archeoParc: an opportunity to share experiences, ideas and perspectives on archaeological outreach.

Events like this allow us to venture out of Val Senales, meet new enthusiasts and share the story of prehistory beyond the museum walls. They are also a way to learn new things, which we then take with us – and back to the museum.

And who knows: perhaps the next step will be for you to come and visit us in Val Senales.

See you in La Spezia!
