Deer antler working workshop (Awl)

29. September 12:30 16:30

Ötzi’s clothes and some pieces of his equipment were made out of leather and fur. These materials are too hard and too thick to be sewed directly with needle and thread: they must be previously punctured with an awl. Our museum educators will show you how to make an awl of antlers and poplar bark using only flint stylus and a sharpening stone.

No registration required | Starts several times from 12:30 on | Included in the admission fee | Course 2 | Workshop area (#09) | Duration: approx. 60 min | Last entrance for visiting all hands-on areas at 14:00
