Long before Ötzi, our ancestors filled animal fat into flat stone bowls and lit them with the help of a wick made of plant fibres. Later, lighting devices like this one were mainly made from clay. Under the guidance of our cultural mediators, you will make a simple bowl lamp from clay yourself and, who knows, maybe one fine evening it will give you the light at home that was the only light that man could produce until just over a hundred years ago.
